Be thankful for what you have. In Hawaiian culture it’s natural to put great value in the simple things. We appreciate our families, our homes, fresh air, flat water, rainfall, and a sunny day. Life on the islands is full of content. You don’t need much more than what the islands have to offer.

However, being thankful for what you have does not mean you shouldn’t want more. This just means that if you aspire for more and achieve your goals you should be thankful for it. The more you achieve, the more you have to be thankful for. Above all else, be thankful for the opportunities you have to achieve in life.
