Kōkua Aku Kōkua Mai

Give help, receive help. This Hawaiian value can be deceiving sometimes because it implies that if you help others that others will automatically help you. That is not true. We should enforce the idea that one should always “give” help without the expectation that you will receive help. 

If we all move forward in our lives with the full intention of giving help to those in need, by nature, help will eventually come back around to us. Call it karma, or call it equilibrium; what goes around comes around.
